The Joburg artist VICEQUIAT is back at it again, with his riveting hip-hop tune ‘THS DYS’ featuring PUMAS+ROSES. At 2 minutes and 38 seconds, both VICEQUIAT and PUMAS+ROSES manage to bring their A game, with VICEQUIAT delivering a short soliloquy describing all the negative emotions that have been plaguing his day-to-day, and despite all of that, how hip-hop and writing put him in what he describes as ‘God Mode’. PUMAS+ROSES contrasts this verse with a more bar-heavy performance showcasing his ability and overall command of the pen. Artists like VICEQUIAT set a good precedent for where South African hip-hop is going, and I am eagerly awaiting what more is in store for the artist.
