Hatua Kali @ Observatory and Muizenburg

About the facilitator

Hatua Kali was founded by Tanika Paschke-Moloi, a multidisciplinary artist whose goal was to build a company that combines media with design and education, with an emphasis on social impact.

Hatua Kali, as an organisation for social change, has an emphasis on product design, research, coordinating, and organising collective support to place attention on causes that improve the quality of life for marginalised communities. Tanika herself creates work that emphasizes healing through the pursuit of various creative modes of communication. With a long-storied career that has been dedicated to the healing properties of storytelling.

Tanika developed her reputation as a teacher from her ability to facilitate a space for emotional safety amongst diverse groups of people, allowing for an organic way for each student to develop their creative potential. This ability, combined with well-designed systems and frameworks, leads students through a journey of transforming ideas into a practical showcase of skill.
