Comedy For Sudan
Join the good people of Protest As Praxis, and That’s Not Funny on the 29th of January from 7pm till late at the Bree Street Community Hub for a Comedy Fundraiser for Sudan
The aim of this event is based on mutual aid, collective responsibility, and shared struggle. Sudan is facing large-scale violence, particularly in Darfur, with many internally displaced people—mostly consisting of women and children who are surviving in camps under the threat of militia violence, torture, and sexual assault.
Children, many without families or protection, are pushed into dangerous forms of labour, trafficking, and armed groups, while the absence of healthcare, food systems, and safe shelter deepens the crisis.
This night uses comedy as a praxis: a way to gather, redistribute resources, and refuse distance from Sudan’s struggle. Come be part of a community-led effort that centres dignity, accountability, and action.
