Khamari Impresses Us Once Again With What Might Be His Best Song Yet

In this week of dreary weather, new American popes and the world inching more and more to outright insanity, I’ve found it difficult to believe that the grass is greener on the other side.

That is until Khamarigraced my ears with what might be his best song yet. ‘Head in a Jar’ is certainly a song whose somber instrumentals might ease the monotony of modernity or have you sink deeper into despair.

The song serves as a metaphor for Khamari’s feelings of being trapped within his head and being watchful eye into their life from a distance that is too close for comfort.

You listen to the song as Khamari himself, and subsequently are witnessing everything they do, where Khamari can’t seem to get away from them as he states, “here on your nightstand, I’ll spend my life left with my head in a jar”.

In Head in a Jar, Khamari elevates the heartfelt performance he usually delivers by including beautifully sung ad-libs in the background of the song to complement his almost masterfully effortless vocal delivery.

More specifically, in the first chorus, Khamari takes a step back and allows the background vocals and the acoustic guitar to sing for him.

Boston-born Khamari provides a powerful delivery on all his songs. After releasing his debut EP, Eldorado, to a warm critical reception, Khamari seemingly disappeared for over a year. His heart-breaking single “Doctor, My Eyes” – released a full year after his debut EP, followed by “Drifting” and “Tell Me” – bridged the gap between eras as Khamari now prepares for his exciting next chapter. Khamari has received widespread acclaim internationally and is seemingly always growing.
