Budding from New York, Brooklyn, is the Indie-Pop Rock band ‘Perish’. They encapsulate the listener through a buzz of emotions – creating songs about the human experience by focusing on those innate moments of quietness, that allow us to truly ‘feel’, as we are left alone with our minds.

Debuting with their EP in 2025, they put forth sounds that embody tranquility, with a touch of melancholy by anchoring in those beautiful guitar rifts, along with to-die-for vocals. Derived from their EP, their song ‘God I’m Freaking Out’ introduces the listener to the musical landscape that they have nurtured. Opening up with clean vocals that ease you into the song – brandished by melodic guitar strums and a satisfying baseline, Perish sets the mood for what feels like a chilly day that welcomes the early morning dew and drizzle.

The song that really captured me is their single ‘Patience’. The track opens up with a sweet guitar tune that is soon joined by sensual vocals, crisp and organic. The percussion picks up and perfectly ties the instrumental together. The lyrics are delicately conveyed and assume an ethereal vigour as they rock in tandem with the guitar that satisfyingly unwinds and picks up again at around 00:53 minutes. As the track progresses that spunky electric guitar makes its appearance, turning the song into both a melodic and jamming listen. The guitar, accompanied by hair-raising singing took me on a whirlwind of emotions, as I was entranced by the musical arrangement’s harmonic nature and down right groovy vibe.
