A unique alternative neo-soul mix to warm your soul and ease you into the busyness of a new week, the UK producer Endaf came through last Friday with a groovy one in his track ‘To You, From Me’. A soft romantic blend of the elements of neo soul and the alternative pop that showcased the producing talents of Endaf and the Vocal skills of Ruby. 

The track is marvelously woven together in the web that is Endaf’s skills as a producer, with him providing a simple yet not overly layered instrumental. However, its simplicity provides Ruby the space to traverse freely through the space curated around soft synthesizers, light acoustics, and a simple yet effective drum pattern, subtle progressions, and beat switches, adding to the depth of the track. 

Ruby’s vocals are the star of the track, with an almost hypnotic vocal drum adding another layer of depth to this song. The romance and feelings of moving forward with someone despite them maybe not working out in the past, and feelings of fondness that persist, were perfectly exemplified in the delivery of Ruby’s vocals. A track like this didn’t need a wide range of vocals, yet Ruby delivers on that front regardless and excels in that regard. 

A great single like ‘To You From Me’ was expected from the producer Endaf, as his track ‘Wrapped’ was featured in the BBC Music Introducing’s Hot List and has received support from BBC Radio 1. 

The Wales-born producer has been DJ’ing and producing for over 10 years and still has a bright future in the music space if music of this quality is what he continues to produce. Overall, this track was a strong one from the duo of Endaf and Ruby, and I’m incredibly keen to hear what they have to offer in the future in the realm of collaboration. 

How simple elements of production with a strong vocal range created a song with strong tones sonically mixed with a synergy that serves to make this track an unforgettable listen. ‘To You From Me’ certainly has a place in my playlist in the future.
